A Norcal December Weekend

The California CoastPoint Reyes National Seashore is about an hour drive from San Francisco, up north over the Golden Gate Bridge. This photo is from the hike out to Tomales Point, through the elk reserve. When it doesn't rain in December, the coast is usual clear of fog. This is a unique chance to hike this area without being surrounded by fog. You can actually see the coast, elks, and various bird life. I took a couple of hours away from a computer, and out of cellphone range, to clear my head and get some exercise. It's about a 9 mile hike, but it's relatively flat. Some beautiful views of Tomales Bay, Bodega Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. Now, I just need to survive this last week of Holiday madness and it's snowboardin' time!

Waiting on Winter

Tahoe SnowIt's December, and there is definitely a chill in the air, but no snow. I am craving a snowboarding weekend in Tahoe, but I guess I'll have to wait till we get our late December storm. Our ski cabin doesn't start until the first weekend in January, so I guess it's just as well. Got an email from Nicki, apparently there is a 65" base up at Mt. Hood. Maybe I'll jet up there for a weekend of boarding. Right, I wish. Working in the retail world means that this is the busiest time of year at work. So far, things have been running pretty smoothly, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. That's about it for now. Happy Holidays all, and stay sane during the retail craziness.
