Spring Grillin
Nothing like grilling steak in the snow. Just enough snow had melted to allow us to squeeze the grill onto the deck. We watched some hoops, drank some wine, watched the snow fall, and ate till we couldn't move. Fantastic Friday!!!
In other news, it was Debbies birthday last weekend. We celebrated in style, having a great meal at a swanky resturant (Garry Danko). Amazing service, great atmosphere, but I'm pretty sure I've had better food in Debbies dining room.

San Francisco Sunset
Wish I could claim this photograph. Last night was the most amazing sunset, it looked like the entire sky was on fire.
Walking home over Russian Hill provided an amazing view as the sun set over the Presidio. Rays of blood red light shimmered over the forest, quite spectacular. I wish I had my camera on me.
Spring has definitely arrived early in San Francisco. So much for snowboarding, time to break out the bike and hiking shoes.

The Folks are back State Side

Well, the folks have made it safely back to the US, but has Australia survived their visit?
Boy did they have a great time. Took well over 1000 pictures, ate some fantastic food, and put the world right with Mary and Dave.
I'm pretty sure Dad is loaded up with some new stories to tell, he was rehearsing the stories with Debbie and I while here in San Francisco.

Mootie couldn't stop grinning. She obviously had a fantastic time, just ask her to play some of her "Australia Soundtrack" that she has recorded. Sounds of Kookaburra, rain in the jungle, frogs, and Mom trying to talk to Mary's parrot. Hysterical.
The photo to the right is Mootie doing her best Kangaroo imitation. Pop got all of Cobargo searching for kangaroos in a mad hunt to prove they are actually real. It took days before they saw any, but then they ran into them, chilling at the beach (of course, where else would you chill out). They also saw a monster Goanna leaving the beach.

Oh, and they got to cuddle with Koala bears. By the looks of this picture, Nicki, Colin, and I were about to get a new adobted sibling.
They also went snorkling up at Cairns, blinding all locals by putting on skin tight web suits (I'm surprised they were not locked up for that!). Pop kept getting yelled at for floating off on his own, and Mom spent time cuddling with a big old fish.

I just had to include this last picture. I have no idea what Devil Poo is, nor how you are supposed to watch out for it, but the look on Pop's face is priceless.

An Afternoon with the James
Quite an eventful weekend this past weekend!
On Thursday evening, Debbie and I drove up to Tahoe for some fun in the sun. Friday turned out to be fantastic, close to 60 degrees, and not a cloud in the sky. We rode all day, riding the sweet soft slush, then had dinner prepared by a visiting friend.
Saturday turned out to be very windy, and a lot of the resorts were on wind hold. So Debbie and I took a leisurely drive back to San Francisco, and had a nice, restful evening in.
On Sunday, Tim and has family drove up from Palo Alto for a quick visit before heading back to Wisconsin.
Tim and Heather were out here for Bailey's last surgery. Unfortunately, Bailey was born with a couple of heart defects, which meant that she has had to have multiple surgeries over the course of her two year life. This should be the last one, hopefully, for a while. (To read more, check out their blogs at caringbridge.org and at http://baileyfayjames.blogspot.com/).
Anyway, I took them for a quick walk in the Presidio, and we were lucky enough to watch the sun set into the Pacific (not a sign of fog anywhere!). After the walk, we went over to Debbie's for some Salmon and wine (oh, and we watched the Little Mermaid). Good times.
This week, the folks triumphant return from Australia. More to follow......
