40?!?!?

Another birthday has come and gone and I am officially old. Where has the time gone? How can I be 40?
20 years ago I had just started my junior year at Michigan. Struggling to get through upper class electrical engineering courses. At 22 I had just moved out to Northern California and started my life on the west coast. My twenties were spent building a career, traveling, and various outdoor activities such as snowboarding.
10 years ago I finally moved into an apartment with no room mates. I was still traveling, hiking, camping and all that, but I was also getting a bit more seriously about maybe growing up. Then I met Debbie. Then we got married. Then we had Tommy. Then we bought a house. Then we had Ross. And now time flies by so quickly that I feel I blink and a year has gone by.
My last weekend in my 30s was spent in the Sierra foothills with the family. We hiked in the woods, we wine tasted, we sat on our rears and watched the moon rise over the mountains. It was great.
All in all, I consider myself a very lucky man. I have a wonderful family, a great career, my health. Each decade keeps getting better. I am looking forward to the adventures that will pop up in my 40s.
