Colin Turns 33

Happy Birthday Colin! Hope you are having a fantastic time where ever you are.
Colin has been extremely prolific with his family emails. He is having quite the adventure in south east Asia.
Back from Laos now, bank card didn't work and I made it back with only 25bhat to spare (about 50p or 40cents). Got quite tight there in the end but hey just another adventure. Emily and I just spent a night in a posh hotel (16 whole pounds a night) as it is our last night together and we both needed a comfortable nights sleep. She is off to New Zealand tomorrow and I am off to the extreme south of Thailand. I will need to go to Malaysia as the Laos trip only extended my visa by 2 weeks rather then 1 month, looks like they changed the extension time allocations over the last month....just my luck. It shouldn't be a problem as I will be a 30 min boat ride from the border in the next couple of days. I am going to have to live very cheaply as I have been exceeding my budget a bit the last month. Good thing I am traveling solo, means I can spend days fishing in the sea without any worries at all.
I feel like I have forgotten how to speak or type as I have been communicating in broken English and sign language for so long. Job interviews will be funny when I return as I think I may sound like English is my scond language......I am sure you know what I mean.
Since I last wrote I have been back in Chang Mai, gone down to Bangkok then headed south. I went down to Trang for a night then off to Ko Mook. Talk about going back in time, no internet, electric only works from 9am to noon then from 4pm till midnight. Sleeping in a tent with huge spiders, monkeys, and about 10 varieties of lizard (hahahahaha) running about everywhere. I was one of only three Farangs on the island (crackers) and I think there were only about 10 tourists there the entire week. Spent my time fishing, swimming on a deserted beach and playing with the landlords kid. I am now in Malaysia after a crazy day moving about.....started with a boat that almost sank from the island (very rough water), then a bus, then a mini bus, then the back of a motorcycle, then another mini bus, then a ferry and lastly a tuk tuk. I am on the island of Penang in the north of Malaysia....I think. I met some old Aussie who has taken the trip with me and we have had a great laugh today. He knows a way to get a 30 day extention visa for Thailand so I won't need to worry after tomorrow. I think after a few days here I will make my way to KL then back to Chang Island in Thailand for the last bit of my trip.

Billy - Was checking out your webpage and reading about Colin's adventures in Thailand and Malaysia, where we will be heading later this year. Can I email him for suggestions?
